Even though I’ve been totally wrapped up with wiping the undead horde off of the earth (Left 4 Dead), I can still look to the stars for my next mission.

Of course, I’m talking about StarCraft 2. Yes, I’m looking forward to it’s 2009 release, and I don’t even care if it is in 3 separate installments. I’ve heard a little bit of confusion about the releases though, mostly centering around what the three releases entail.

The 3 races are all going to have their own single player game released, one after the other. However, once you buy the Terran story, you’ll be able to play all 3 races in single or multiplayer games, but you won’t have the single player campaign until you buy the other installments.

If you remember the original StarCraft, there was a series of missions, and characters, that all created a story. There was one of these for each of the races. That’s what’s causing all of the delay, the creation of those single player campaigns. When the other installments come out, that’s what you’re going to be laying down your hard earned cash for, additional single player campaigns.

I’m sure that those that just want to play online may just buy the Terran campaign, and ignore the next 2 installments. While those who love the story and the game itself will buy all 3.

Now, Blizzard has always done right by me, so I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. If they say that the other two episodes will be worth it, I’ll buy them.

Especially if it gets them to work on Diablo 3 faster :-)
