Hi Guys... I've been listening for a few shows now. I write alot of the
fake commercials Casey runs on SciFi Surplus.

In your last show, you commented on Netbooks and their return rates. I've
been looking at Netbooks for a while now, and what I keep coming back to is
that it seems the ones with better specs come with XP by default. So, when
we think about return rates, I'm wondering how many people are buying
Netbooks with a Microsoft OS, nuking it, and installing Ubuntu or something
like that?

The reason I don't already have a Netbook is because the price gap between
a mid-level Netbook and a low end laptop isn't much at all, and I can't
decide which would be the better purchase. I wonder if you or your
listeners have had any experiences with Netbooks that really makes them
stand out versus a cheap laptop?

Microsoft Announces Hyper-V Server 2008

When I did a Hyper-V Link Roundup a while back, I mentioned that one complaint about Hyper-V is that you actually have to own Server 2008 in order to use it. Not anymore.

Microsoft announced today (Wednesday) the release of Hyper-V Server 2008, a stand alone, bare metal virtualization product, and yes, it's free.

How to Install Windows Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008

I've been dying to check out Hyper-V, now that I finally have a server to run it on. I figured I would post this quick screen shot tour of how to install Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008.

Mike used to like Experts Exchange, but now he really hates them. He doesn't like Tech Republic either.

A little talk about Microsoft's Mojave Experiment. Apple's "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" advertising campaign is effective. Mike and Art agree Apple is exaggerating things a little.

VMWare is giving away their EXSi server. Art is excited and thinks the virtualization war between Microsoft and VMWare is getting out of hand, but Mike thinks this is the end.

Pong was awesome.

Art has been posting a lot.

I was under the impressions that for this flaw, you would have to use a man in the middle attack to poison a cache.

Microsoft Officially Sponsors the Apache Foundation

It’s been a standard strategy for many software vendors, to offer a free solution, and let the masses try it. Then when they want to purchase something, they will more than likely use your product, since they are already familiar with it.

5 Links to Opinions about Microsoft Hyper-V

Some people like the smell of new cars, and although I think that's fine and dandy, I like the smell of new computer hardware. With new hardware comes choices. I chose to use Windows 2008 64-bit, and I'm looking at doing a little server consolidation.

Now I have to choose a server Virtualization product. I never played much with Microsoft Virtual Server, and VMWare Server is OK, but I need something else.
